Infinity Wallet Card (Beta)

This guide introduces the Infinity Wallet Card funding model, including how card transactions are authorized and settled, how refunds are processed, and how to access daily spending and repayment statements.

Note: The Infinity Wallet Card feature is currently in beta. Contact your account manager to learn more.

1. Overview

The Infinity Wallet Card allows card spending to be backed by funds held in a designated crypto wallet. Unlike prepaid or budget cards, funds do not need to be transferred to the card balance before spending.

Before issuing an Infinity Wallet Card, you need to designate an eligible crypto wallet as the funding wallet. When a card transaction is authorized, the corresponding amount is frozen in the funding wallet. Once the final transaction amount is determined, the actual amount is settled from the wallet.

1.1 Funding Models

Infinity Wallet Cards use a different funding model from standard card funding.

Standard Card FundingInfinity Wallet Card
Funding modelFunds are transferred to the card funding account before spending.Card spending is backed by funds held in a designated crypto wallet.
Card balanceSpending depends on the available prepaid card or budget balance. No balance needs to be maintained on the card. The spending limit is determined by the designated crypto wallet.
AuthorizationThe transaction uses the available card or budget balance. The corresponding amount is frozen in the designated crypto wallet.
SettlementThe transaction amount is deducted from the card or budget balance. The final amount is settled from the designated crypto wallet.

Standard Card Funding

For standard card funding, funds must first be transferred to the Infinity Account and then allocated to a prepaid card or budget before they can be used for card spending.

Infinity Wallet Card

For Infinity Wallet Cards, crypto assets remain in the designated wallet until they are used to settle card spending. The card itself does not hold an actual balance.

1.2 Supported Integration Models

Infinity Wallet Cards currently support MoR and Gateway integration models. Distributor is not supported.

  • For MoR mode, one eligible wallet under the merchant account can be designated as the funding wallet. Cards issued under the account use this wallet for transaction authorization and settlement.
  • For Gateway mode, each sub-merchant designates its own funding wallet. Cards issued for the sub-merchant use the corresponding wallet for transaction authorization and settlement.

2. How It Works

2.1 Authorization and Asset Freeze

  • When an Infinity Wallet Card transaction is authorized, Interlace calculates the amount to be frozen based on the transaction amount and the real-time exchange rate at the time of authorization.
  • The corresponding amount of crypto assets is frozen in the funding wallet at the time of authorization.
  • If the available balance in the funding wallet is insufficient to cover the amount required for authorization, the authorization is declined.

2.2 Settlement and Deduction

  • When the final transaction amount is the same as the authorized amount, the frozen amount is deducted using the exchange rate applied at the time of authorization.
  • If the final transaction amount is lower than the authorized amount, only the final transaction amount is deducted and the remaining frozen amount is released.
  • If the final transaction amount exceeds the authorized amount (for example, due to a force-post transaction), the amount covered by the original authorization is deducted using the exchange rate applied at the time of authorization. The additional amount is calculated using the real-time exchange rate at settlement.
  • Deduction order: frozen balance in the funding wallet > available balance in the funding wallet.

Example

Assume the exchange rate is 1:1. A funding wallet has 100 USDT, of which 30 USDT is frozen for a card transaction, leaving 70 USDT as the available balance.

If the final amount to be deducted is 50 USDT, the 30 USDT frozen balance is deducted first, followed by 20 USDT from the available balance.

2.3 Refunds and Reversals

Refunds and reversals are processed individually when they occur.

  • If a transaction is reversed or refunded before its original frozen amount has been settled, the corresponding frozen amount is released or reduced.
  • If a refund occurs after the original transaction has already been settled, the refunded amount is credited directly to the funding wallet.
  • Partial refunds follow the same logic based on the refunded amount.

3. Integration Tutorials by Mode

The integration flow varies by integration mode and business mode. Follow the corresponding integration tutorial to issue an Infinity Wallet Card.

4. Daily Spending and Repayment Statements

Infinity Wallet Card uses the dedicated Daily Spending Statement and Daily Repayment Statement APIs for reconciliation.

4.1 Daily Spending Statement

A Daily Spending Statement is generated for Infinity Wallet Card transactions from the previous day. The statement records the card spending to be settled for the corresponding day.

Use the Daily Spending Statement API to retrieve the statement for reconciliation.

4.2 Daily Repayment Statement

After the Daily Spending Statement is generated, Interlace executes repayment against the corresponding funding wallet. A Daily Repayment Statement is generated to record the repayment results, including the amount repaid and the actual source of funds used for repayment.

Use the Daily Repayment Statement API to retrieve the repayment results.
